Spa Fire Doors Limited recently completed an essential fire safety upgrade at Mayfarm Flats in Hollywood, Birmingham, carried out on behalf of Bromsgrove Housing Group. This project involved the full removal and replacement of existing fire doors, reinforcing the property’s safety standards in line with regulatory requirements.

At Spa Fire Doors, we understand the critical importance of fire protection in residential settings. Working closely with Bromsgrove Housing Group, we were tasked with delivering a high-quality, fully certified fire door installation that would meet both safety standards and visual expectations.

This project involved the supply and installation of oak-faced, 30-minute fire doors and frames, complete with BM TRADA Q-Mark certification, ensuring full compliance with industry regulations and offering peace of mind to residents and property managers alike.

Scope of Works

• Removal and Replacement: The existing door sets were carefully removed, including frames and associated fittings, to allow for a precise and professional installation of the new fire-rated components.
• Certified Fire Door Installation: We installed new oak-faced FD30 (30-minute fire resistance rated) doors and frames, manufactured to exact specifications. All installations were fully certified under the BM TRADA Q-Mark Fire Door Installation Scheme, verifying compliance and ensuring a traceable, audited process.
• Finishing Touches: To ensure a high-quality finish throughout the communal and private spaces, both sides of each newly installed frame were painted. We also made good any surrounding areas affected during installation, leaving the environment clean and professionally presented.
• Additional Works – Collar Matting Installation: Where old side cupboards had previously been removed inside the flats, we supplied and installed new collar matting, providing a clean, safe, and practical surface solution that complements the upgraded interiors.

The fire doors at Mayfarm Flats now meet stringent fire safety regulations while offering a modern, professional appearance. Beyond compliance, the upgrades contribute to a safer living environment for all residents.
