Hagley Catholic High School – Fire Door Set Replacements & Remedial Works

We were commissioned to carry out a fire door upgrade and remedial programme at Hagley Catholic High School in Stourbridge, delivering enhanced fire safety and compliance throughout the site. The project involved the replacement of existing door sets with BM TRADA Q-Mark certified 30-minute fire doors, as well as remedial works on other doors across the school to bring them in line with current fire safety regulations.

All new door sets were purpose made to the school’s specifications, with selected finishes and styles to suit different locations and usage requirements within the building.

Scope of Work

• Installation of BM TRADA Q-Mark Certified Fire Door Sets: We supplied and installed fully certified 30-minute fire rated door sets across the school. These doors were independently tested and certified under the BM TRADA Q-Mark scheme, ensuring they meet the highest standards in fire resistance, durability, and regulatory compliance.
• Bespoke Design and Finishing: Each door set was custom-manufactured to meet the school’s requirements. Notable examples include: A door featuring a diamond-shaped vision panel, finished in an attractive oak veneer, offering both visual appeal and fire safety. Also a set of double entrance doors to the dining hall, supplied in a paint grain finish and painted in the school’s chosen grey colour, blending seamlessly with the school’s interior design.
• Remedial Works on Existing Door Sets: In addition to the door replacements, we carried out extensive remedial works on various fire doors across the school. This included upgrading seals, hardware, and making necessary adjustments to ensure full compliance with current fire safety regulations.
• High-Quality Ironmongery and Installation: All doors were fitted with high performance, fire rated ironmongery, including closers, hinges, handles, and locks, installed by our experienced, fully qualified team.

Outcome

The completed works at Hagley Catholic High School have significantly enhanced the school’s fire safety infrastructure, ensuring both new and existing fire doors meet today’s stringent standards.
